New Pool Safety Brochure for Lake Havasu City, AZ Residents & Visitors

Thanks to the Hisatsinom Society of the Children of the American Revolution (Lake Havasu City, AZ), the "Spirit of Sarah" Project is under way. The members of this group, of which Sarah was an organizing and charter member, created an envelope that will contain water safety information for residents and visitors of Lake Havasu City.

In partnership with the Lake Havasu City Parks & Recreation Department, the Mohave County Sheriff's Department, the Lake Havasu City Police Department and numerous other local entities, the envelopes and important water safety messages are being presented to children in local public schools. The project was initially covered by the local newspaper, Today's News-Herald, in an article and then was picked up regionally by the Associated Press. Sarah's story will also be featured in an upcoming swimming pool trade magazine article.

Intended to be given to new city residents, new pool owners and boaters, the envelope contains the legal requirements for pools within the city, Arizona state boating laws and other water safety information. The envelope bears Sarah's picture and reminds readers that Sarah was the victim of a tragic swimming pool accident.

This project is being spearheaded by Clairdell Ross and Selena DuLac of Lake Havasu City. Continued production and distribution of the envelopes will be financed by ongoing fundraiser projects hosted by the CAR chapter.
